Unlike their mature counterparts, which require weeks or even months to reach harvest readiness, microgreens can be plucked and savoured within a mere week to 10 days of the cotyledon leaves emerging, in other words, those initial embryonic leaves within the seed. Although they may look small and cute on the outside, don’t let its appearance fool you. These micro foliage not only packs a nutritious punch but also offer a potent combination of aromatic flavours presenting an enchanting array of colours and textures.
The journey of Foliage Microgreens began when the two former quantity surveyors, Fairuz and Harith realised they shared a common passion which is to embark on a venture deeply rooted in their love for gardening. Their dream took root as a modest homegrown microgreen operation four years ago, and today, it has blossomed into a thriving business.
However, their journey hasn’t always been all flowers and butterflies. Before the duo’s collaboration with Secai Marche, Foliage Microgreens was a one-man show. They had to scout for customers independently, maintain quality control over their produce as well as personally deliver their prized microgreens to the clients. Due to that, the whole process would take up a significant amount of their time, leaving limited room for research into other microgreen varieties.
Everything changed when they partnered with Secai Marche. Their clientele and delivery process were entrusted to Secai Marche, which allowed them to focus entirely on what they do best, cultivating exceptional microgreens and delving deep into researching other varieties as well as development for innovative products. Their effort can be seen through their wide array of microgreens currently available on the Secai Marche platform.
